Spring is the Season for HVAC Technicians

As we head into the spring season, the temperature begins to rise, the sun continues to shine later in the day, and everything outside starts to turn from brown and yellow to green. There are plenty of reasons to be in a cheerful mood this time of year – unless you’re going home to an unmaintained HVAC system, that is. In that case, spring may not be so pleasant.

Unfortunately, there are thousands of families and businesses that are burdened with dirty and faulty systems in need of serious updates and repairs during this time of year.

Fortunately, MIAT graduates are in a perfect position to land HVAC jobs to combat these issues. HVAC technicians have always had career opportunities in the U.S. And with new industry regulations and the development of more energy-efficient systems, jobs are in high demand and will continue to be for the foreseeable future.

While work may be continuous all year round, the need for HVAC technicians is most prevalent when the seasons are changing. Many people will turn on their air conditioners this month for the first time since the beginning of last fall and will come to find that their unit is in desperate need of repair. Nobody enjoys feeling uncomfortable at home or at work because of poor air quality and lack of temperature control, so HVAC technicians will see – probably all at once – just how much they’re needed.

With prime HVAC season finally upon us, technicians should get ready to replace dirty AC filters, clean evaporator coils, seal windows and doors and manage refrigerant levels. The warmer it gets outside, the more best friends they’re going to make around town.
