Organization Creates Opportunities For Alumni from National Service Corps

\"NationalMIAT College of Technology is proud to announce its official role as a charter member of Employers of National Service.

Employers of National Service is an organization that builds a talent pipeline to connect AmeriCorps and Peace Corps alumni with leading employers from the private, public, and nonprofit sectors to create recruitment, hiring, and advancement opportunities. A great range of experience and interests can be found among national service alumni, whose backgrounds range from those earning their GED to those with professional degrees.

AmeriCorps is a federal agency that helps more than 5 million Americans improve the lives of their fellow citizens through service. Working hand in hand with local partners, AmeriCorps taps the ingenuity and can-do spirit of the American people to tackle some of the most pressing challenges facing our nation.

Peace Corps is the preeminent international service organization of the United States, the Peace Corps sends Americans abroad to tackle the most pressing needs of people around the world. Peace Corps Volunteers work at the grassroots level toward sustainable change that lives on long after their service—at the same time becoming global citizens and serving their country. When they return home, Volunteers bring their knowledge and experiences—and a global outlook—that enriches the lives of those around them.

MIAT is the first two-year college in the country to join Employers of National Service.

At MIAT, we recognize that National Service alumni are strong leaders. The quick learning, motivated, flexible, innovative and goal-oriented individuals who come out of National Service make a good fit within the MIAT team atmosphere.

“If you’re an employer who wants to hire talented, dedicated, patriotic, skilled, tireless, energetic workers, look to AmeriCorps, look to the Peace Corps… Citizens who perform national service are special.  You want them on your team.”
